9.3 Unit 1 & 5 Review

Today, we reviewed algebra and geomertry. I thought what we did today was easy because it was concepts we had just learned before we stared the review. The picture below shows what we did today. We did parallel and perpendicular lines but we had to find y or x. And we did geometry, which was finding was the area of 2 different shapes then adding the areas to get the total area. I found today's lesson to be easy and straight to the point overall.

9.3 Unit 1 & 5 Review

Today we started the review for unit 1 and 5. I thought this was a little difficult for me because for unit 1 there was a lot of graphing slopes and finding the y and x intercepts. And I wasn't great with that in the first place. I could use standard form to change into y-intercept form. I thought that was easy because I had worked hard on those concepts. This picture below shows what we have done during the class. The multiple choice was good practice for EQAO but I still made mistakes in my answers so I would end up circleing the wrong answer, but I would compare my answers with my group members and then I would fix my mistake. Overall I thought today's work got easier by the time I finished.

9.2 Unit 4 & 5 Review

Today we started the review for units 4 and 5. I thought this was easy because most of the time we would only have to use y-intercept form and slope form. This wasn't difficult because there wasn't any rules we had to follow for example, the multiplication rule. The picture below describes what we did today. Today's work was mostly multiple choice and word problems, which was over not to complicating because most the information needed was in the question. Therefore, I found today's work to be easy after all the practice.

9.1 Unit 2 Review

Today we reviewed unit 2. I found this to be really easy because I was good with algebra. I really liked using the Exponent Laws to solve the equations because it made it easier for me to solve because I wouldn't have to use BEDMAS all the time to solve the eqaution. In the picture below it shows how I used the Exponent Laws to solve my equation and how easy it was without BEDMAS. When I got to more difficult questions during homework the Exponent Laws always helped me especially, if I had a mistake then I would notice it because I probably did something wrong with the Exponent Laws or missed a step. Overall this units review was really easy.

7.5 Surface Area and volume of a Sphere

Learning Goal: to find the volume and surface area of a sphere
Today we learned how to find the volume and surface area of a sphere. I found this to be easy for me because of the video we watched in class and what I tought myself over the summer (which was doing grade 9 math). The formulas weren't hard to remember because it wasn't complex like other lessons. The picture below shows the surface area formula and how we calculate it. At first the questions were easy but the more questions we did the more difficult it got to solve but I survived throught it and solved them. Overall today's lesson was fairly easy.

7.4 Surface area and volume of Cones

Learning Goal: to find the surface area and volume of cones
Today we learned how to find the surface area and volume of cones. I found this to be a difficult because I was still learning the formulas for surface area and volume of prisms and pyramids and we learned another formula for a total different shape. The picture below shoes how I found the volume. I found the volume by using Pythagorean Theorem, Circumfermce, and formula for Volume of a Cone. I this was end result hard for me beacause I learned so may formuals in a short amount of time.

7.3 Surface Area and Volume of prisms and pyramids

Learning Goal: to find the surface area and volume of prisms and pyramids
Today we learned how to find the surface area and volume of prisms and pyramids using a formula. I thought today's lesson was hard for me because I had 2 different formuals for 2 different concepts, which made it hard for me to remember. The picture below shows the task that we did as a class. In part a we found the surface area of Louve and then in part b we found the volume of the Louve. Overall, I found this difficult because of the formulas.

7.1 Pythagorean Theorem

Learning Goal: to find the lengths in right triangles using Pythagorean Theorem
Today we learned how to find the lengths in right triangles using Pythagorean Theorem. I found this to be the easiest thing ever because I was awesome at completing these. But after a while this got boring because we just kept on using the same theory over over again. In the picture below it shows how I found x using Pythagorean Theorm. Overall this lesson was the easiest lesson for me.

6.3 Angle relationships in Polygons

Learning Goal: to find the interior angles and the sum of the interior angles polygons.
Today we learned to find the interior angles and the sum of the interior angle for polygons using formulas. I though this was complicating at first because I didn't get what exactly we were, suppose to place for n. But later when we started to do the work I understood that in the equation 180(n-2), you replace n with the number of angles. The picture below shows a chart we filled out, so we could use the formula later to do our homework. Therefore this lesson wasn't to difficult end result.

6.2 Angle Properties in Quadrilaterals

Learning Goal: To calculate angle properties in quadrilaterals
Today's we learned how to find the angles properties in quadrilaterals. I found this to be easy because I knew that the interior and exterior angles had to equal to 360 degrees, so all I needed to was add the angles to equal to 360. But if one angle was missing then we would have subtract all the angles from 360 to get the angles angle. In the picture below, it shows the formula for calculating interior and exterior angles. Overall, this lesson was easy because we didn't learn a lot of new concepts, even though this concept was new to most of the class but everyone understood it.

1.1 Using Scatter Plots

Learning Goal: To determine the dependent and independent variables and correctly label them on their proper axis.

Today we learned how to plot scatter plots. And we learned how to determine our the dependent and independent variables on the x and y axis. I thought this was difficult because I wasn't good a graphing anything and I was confused what independent and dependent was but I read everything over and then it made more sense. That is why scatter plots and dependent and independent variables are easy to do.

0.1 Grade 8 Review

Learning Goal: to review the concepts in grade 8

Today we reviewed concepts from grade 8. I found these concepts a little difficult at first but then I remembered what to do. Some of the words didn't make sense at all to me that why I didn't do them, but later I was look at them they did make sense. This made me have to think harder to solve what the words and lines meant.
