Unit 4 Test: Quadratics

In unit 4, Quadratics, I didn't do as good as I expected. I had other important school work that had to be completed and let my suptudying stay on the side. To help myself improve the learning goal from this unit, I had to re-do all the questions so I made myself feel like I actually knew what to do. The learning goal I am addressing is: To apply quadratic properties to word problems. This learning caused me problems because I knew what I was doing at first but than the wording of the word problems confused and I didn't know what I was doing and I got lost. In order to improve my understanding of this learning goal I studied harder on the following tests and tried to boost my mark, and I did extra practice questions to help.
The following is the learning goal that I got lower than a level 3 on:
The following image is the questions that I have created:
After completing my own question, I believe that I understand how to solve word probelm amd I am not confused about it anymore. In order to become more sucessful I will working on solving word problems because putting together the information is the hardest part for me.

Unit 4 Test: Quadratics

In unit 4, Quadratics, I didn't do as good as I expect, actaully I did terrible. This is because I didn't have time to study because I had other assignments I had to complete for the next day so I didn't have time to study, but I could've woke up earlier in the morning to at least to review so I wouldn't have done as bad. To help improve the learning goals for this unit I have made additional notes rather than the ones that I had, I had myself practice questions, and I memorized the questions that weren't given in the test.
The learning goal I am addressing for my digital portfolio is: To analayze and interpret parts of a parabola. This learning goal caused me a problem because I didn't forgot how to find the Axis of Symmetry and I didn't find the y-coordinate and vertex. In order to improve my understanding of this learning goal I studied everything again for this unit and I did the questions I got wrong on the test to correct myself amd prove that could actaully do it.
The following is the learning goal that I got lower than a level 3 on:
The following is an image of the questions that I have created:
This learning goal hwo makes me a lot for confident about what I am doing. This is because I understand how to find the Axis of Symmetry. In order to become more sucessful I will not leave studying to the last priority and assume I know what I am doing just because I understood it in class.

Unit 4 Test: Quadratics

In unit 4, Quadratics, I did terrible. This is because I didn't have time to study for the math test becasue I had other assignments due the same day that took up my study time. To help improve my learning goals in this unit I made a 2 hour study period separate from everything else I had to do so, I could concentrate just on math, I reviewed all my notes that I had made earlier in the unit, and I completed any work that was complete.
The learning that I am addressing in my digital portfolio is: To factor quadratic realationships using one of the methods outlined in class. This learning goal caused a problem becasue I forgot how to use the methods we had learned in class which made it very difficult for me. To help myself improve my understanding in this learning goal I reviewed the methods we mentioned in class.
The following is the learning goal that I got lower than a level 3 on:
The following is a question that I created:
For this learning goal, I feel very comfortable about it because I don't have to right all the steps in order figure out the answer, I can do it in my head and come to the final answer. In order to become more sucessful I can review the factoring methods (ex. Product and Sum) and do additional questions in factoring.

Unit 3 Test: Quadratics

In unit 3, Quadratics, I didn't do as well as I expected. This becasue I studied hard for the test but when it came to doing the question's I blanked out and forgot the most important things that I had to remember (ex. eqautions). To help improve the learning goals for this unit I have studied harder and tried to not blank out on the other tests, and tried not to stress.
The learning goal I am addressing for my digital portfolio is: Use the exponent properties to solve the following terms. This learning goal caused me a problem becasue I forgot most of the exponent properites which made me mess up the questions that had negative numbers as exponents. In order to improve my understanding of this learning goal I have looked over the exponent properties again and did more practice work so I wouldn't forget them.
The following is an image of the learning goal I got lower than a level 3 on:
These are the questions that I have created:
Considering that the questions that I created, I understand what I am going now. To be more sucessful I need to look over the exponent properites and carve it in my brain for the exam.

Unit 2 Test: Coordinates and Geometry

In unit 2, Coordinates and Geometry, I did fairly well. This unit wasn't too difficult, just the memorization of the equations took awhile for me, even thought we didn't have to memorize them I prefered memorizing them. To help myself improve in the learning goals in this unit I have determined when each equation is used, and looked over what every term meant so, I wouldn't get confused.
The learning I am addressing in my digital portfolio is: To find special points in triangles. This learning caused me a probelm becaus I got confused on the definitions ( Centriod or Orthocenter) when looking at the triangles. To help improve my understanding of this learning goal I have revised the definitions of the terms and decided to understand where each was located on a triangle, rather than just knowing just the defintion.
This image shows the learning goal I got less than a level 3:
This is the question I created for this learning goal:
After completing my own question, I feel that I have a better understanding of this learning goal. Some things I can do to be more sucessful are have someone quiz me on the terms, and prepare better for the unit in general.

Unit 2 Test: Coordinates and Geometry

In unit 2, Coordinates and Geometry, I was very sucessful with one exception. This exception was getting a 50% in the knowledge section, this was because I messed up the points given in the question. The things I have done to improve in the learning goals from this unit are memorized all the terms definitons, memorized the equations, and did extra work and complete all the homework assigned.
The learning goal I am addressing for my digital portfolio is: To accurately draw and find the equation of perpendicular bisectors and medians. This learning goal caused myself problems because I got the points confused in one of the questions but for the part where I had to describe the median, perpendicular bisector and altitude I was very sucessful. To improve my understanding of this learning goal I paid attention to points given on other tests and revised my work before I handed it in so, I wouldn't get major marks deducted.
The following picture is an image that shows the learning goal I got less than a level 3 on:
This is the question that I created for this learning goal:
After creating my own question, I feel that I could do well in the exam on this learning goal. In order for myself to be more sucessful in this learning I need to read to question carefully and check my work before I hand it in and also practice more on the parts that I struggled.

Unit 1 Test : Linear Systems

In unit 1, Linear Systems, I did ok. This is because I was very sucessful with my communication mark but, when it came to my application mark it was lower than a level 3. In this unit, I learned to how to do substitiuation and elimination and solve and create system of eqautions. In order to improve my understanding of this learning goal I made additional questions and got help from friends when I struggled so, they could explain to me what I was doing wrong.
The learning goal that I am addressing in my digital portfolio is: To create systems of equations. This learning goal caused myself a problem because I would always seond guess myself when originally my first answer was right. To improve my understanding of this learning goal I have asked my peers help when needed, tried teaching myself the learning goal, and did additional practice questions.
The following picture is an image that shows the learning goal and parts that I didn't get a level 3 on:
The question that I made for this learning goal is:
Now, for this learning goal I feel more positive about it. I believe that if I re-did this learning goal I could get perfect instead of lower than level 3 in the application section. In order to be more sucessful I need to read the question carefully and highlight the most important information so, I don't forget about it.
